The Cat Doctor Coronavirus Response

UPDATED 5.18.2020

Our top priority is always the health and well-being of our patients, clients, staff, and community. To that end, we are adhering to the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) so that we can continue to provide health services for your furry family members.

Here's what you need to know:

Social distancing

Curbside vet visits:

On March 25, 2020, The Cat Doctor will launch “Curbside vet visits.” This new protocol will keep you from ever having to set foot in our office, while still providing access to excellent healthcare services for your kitty. It is required for all visits.

Shortened hours of operation:

Beginning March 17, The Cat Doctor will limit hours in an attempt to cut down on social contact. The new hours are as follows:

Sunday: Closed as always
Monday: 8am - 5pm
Tuesday: 8am - 5pm
Wednesday: 8am - 5pm
Thursday: 8am - 5pm
Friday: 8am - 5pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm

Appointment spacing:

On weekdays, we will continue to take one appointment per 30-minute time slot so as to limit the number of patients in the building while increasing our ability to follow disinfection protocol.

Social distancing is essential to limiting the spread of Coronavirus. By taking the steps listed above, we hope to aid our local community while continuing to provide an essential service.

Disinfecting

Hand washing:

Before and after touching any cats, all of our employees are thoroughly washing their hands to keep you and them safe.

Hand sanitizer:

While our practice has always been an example of cleanliness, we will be stepping it up during this outbreak with additional hand sanitizer.

Cleaning surfaces:

In addition, all heavily used surfaces will be disinfected following each appointment. Appointments are being spaced to allow for this increase.

Sick leave for employees

The Cat Doctor provides all of its employees with sick days, and we are encouraging anyone feeling under the weather to stay at home for the safety of the community.

Cats and human Coronavirus.

Infectious disease experts and multiple international and domestic human and animal health organizations agree there is no evidence at this point to indicate that pets can spread COVID-19 to other animals, including people. For more information please consult this AVMA web resources.
